Astrology: what it is and how it works
Astrology is a symbolic system translating sky positions into the language of human experience. Its basis is astronomical fact: where the Sun, Moon and planets stood at a moment. Interpretation then gives these facts symbolic meaning.
What a chart contains
Planets describe what force acts: Mercury thinking, Venus values and love, Mars action. Signs say how it acts. Houses point to the area of life, and aspects are the angles showing how these forces cooperate.
The tropical zodiac
Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, counted from the spring equinox, so signs follow the seasons rather than today’s constellations.
What it offers
Astrology is a useful language for reflection: what energises you, where you are sensitive, which periods ask for patience. It is not a science and does not predict facts; its value lies in reflection.
